Silica

Silica

image silicaFillers are non-fluxing and are generally confined to the various forms of silica. Silica is added as a separate component of the ceramic body and indirectly via the other components.

Silica is hard, chemically inert and has a high melting point, making it a valuable material in a range of applications.  For industrial use, pure deposits of silica capable of yielding products of at least 98% SiO2 are required.

At Sibelco we generally consider the supply of silica and fillers to be a local solution. Please contact your local Sibelco Office for help and advice on meeting your requirements for raw sand, quartz or ground sand or quartz.
