Product Benefits

Kaolin is a relatively pure clay, composed essentially of kaolinite.  It differs from ball clays in that it contains no organic matter and is formed in situ.
Kaolin is used to modify the ball clay properties.

The main properties given to the vitreous china body are:

  • Cast rate
  • Rheological stability
  • Thickness forming
  • Mechanical strength
  • Improves the whiteness of the body
  • Adds alumina and improves resistance to deformation
